2012 Goals

I'm really excited about this year. It's going to be a hard, but rewarding year, but I really can't wait to see if I can accomplish some goals I set for myself. I figure I will do updates three times a year to see where I am at and what I really need ot focus on.

Financial

Earn $15,000. It's my goal by the end of the year to find ANY job that will take me. I'm guessing this will happen later on in the year, considering I am currently pregnant and will have a hard time finding work the bigger I get.

Have $1,000 in an emergency fund. This is a big one for me. I don't think I have ever saved more than five hundred dollars, and then I spent it on a laptop. This is essential and it's something I really need to work on if I ever want to feel secure in my finances.

Save $200 in my TFSA. I know it's not a lot, but I am trying to be realistic since my emergency fund will probably gobble up most of my savings.

Prepare for Baby. I want to be fully prepared when the baby comes, not only for me, but for Mike too. Having a stock of diapers and formula ahead of time would be a great asset to us right about now. I also want to have the baby's portion of the room complete by the beginning of June at the latest.

Personal

Have a Healthy Baby. This one I am proud to say is looking quite successful so far. No major problems and with our first ultrasound coming up, I am hoping the baby shows us it's genitals. Oh yeah, I just said that. We'd really love to know whether Mike will have a buddy or be pulling his hair out from too much estrogen in the house.

Start a girl's night out. I feel like I am constantly stuck at home with the family, as much as I love them, I need a night out with some girlfriends every once in awhile. Which girlfriends I have no clue yet...but most likely any that want to just go out and do something fun.

Professional

Raise my WPM. Currently, I am sitting at a mere 40-45 words per minute on the computer. That's if I am typing something from a piece of paper. If I was say writing in my blog, I am sure that it would be somewhere around 50-60 WPM.

Gain Experience. I don't have any experience as an administrative assistant, so finding jobs in that field is tough. I have seen that there are some volunteer positions though, that could give me some experience. I'll have to try to land a volunteer spot to get my foot in the door.
